Glass engraving is the application by cutting on its
surface a drawing, lettering or ornament, manually or mechanically. The pattern
can be convex (relief) or deepened.
The attractiveness of this type of glass design, the
interest it causes in us, perhaps, is due to the fact that engraving is one of
the oldest methods of processing materials.
Glass Engraving |
The most characteristic and familiar example of
engraving for us is the inscription on relatively small objects, such as pocket
watches, weapons, bracelets, lighters. Engraving is also used in jewelry.
In general, many elements of technology, as well as a
significant part of the tools, came to engraving from the jewelry art, from the
methods of metal processing, wood carving, used since ancient times in the
manufacture of overhead jewelry.
The ancient ones have been replaced by modern and
cutting-edge engraving methods.
Laser Glass Engraving |
Laser engraving allows you to achieve a clear
deposition on the glass letters or patterns, make sharp corners, apply drawings
of different density. Depending on the laser settings, there may be a change in
the structure and color of the glass, as well as the evaporation of its thin
outer layer. Using the laser engraving method, they make decorative plates,
tokens, key rings, put inscriptions, patterns and complex images for souvenirs,
various products of various materials.
There is also a method of diamond etching of the
glass, in which small dotted depressions are created on the glass. From this
image on the glass become voluminous.
